Wardrobe staple: The Camel Coat

As I mentioned in my previous post, coats rank high on my wardrobe list. Because weather here ranges from hot to outrageously hot, I get really excited when I finally get a chance to wear a coat. On this particularly cold day, I was happy to have this fabulous layer of warmth, despite feeling like my face is completely frozen.
This wool camel coat is a timeless investment, an item that should be passed down to several generations. This style was embraced by all types of fashion icons, from Marilyn Monroe to Princess Diana and Jackie O. It also reminds me of a holiday classic – Home Alone. Ever since I saw it, I’ve been wanting to own a camel coat like the one that was worn by the mother in that movie.
I found this hidden gem at a consignment store, located in the heart of Deep Ellum. That day, I found 2 other vintage coats which I will be showing in future posts so stay tuned…

I want to shine a light on a style expression that has no borders and I hope it makes your day brighter.
